Hi everyone, I'm Joie.  I live in Charleston, South Carolina with my dog Lucy.  Lucy is very much the free spirit.  She could care less about bills or expectations.  That pretty much leaves me to pay the rent and buy the dog food.  I manage this by working at a real tourist trap of a restaurant.  I meet people from all over the world..

My profession has given me plenty of opportunities over the years to learn about human nature, not to mention a good arsenal of jokes, so join me as a I contemplate the human condition. 

By the way, I'm quite passionate about environmental and food issues.  Forgive me if I occasionally digress into my activist rant mode.  Everybody needs a cause.
